Royal Senate visits Don Bosco


KEP CITY — His Excellency Loak Chhay, Deputy Secretary General of the Royal Senate of Cambodia, paid a visit to the Don Bosco Technical School and Children Fund with his wife and the staff of the Senate. His Excellency gave a conference about democracy and the role of the Senate in the building of the legislation corpus of the country. He stressed the importance that children and youth learn about it. The whole group of the Senate’s staff, near 100 persons, paid a visit to all the departments of the Don Bosco Project in Kep Province and shared with the students of social communication.

Senior Expert Mr. Wolfgang Bauernfeind, SES, radio journalist and professor from Berlin, has come to Don Bosco for five consecutive years to train the social communication teachers in journalism skill. But this year, before heading to Kep, he was invited by the Royal Senate to talk about democracy and communication. He was the main bridge to make Don Bosco Kep known to the Senate that gives importance to education.

After the conference, H.E. Loak Chhay changed his formal clothes and wore the ones of a consecrated footballer to challenge the teachers of Don Bosco. The event attracted all the Academic Community and brought a moment of joy and friendship among the two institutions.
