Don Bosco Olympics

Red champion January 29 2016       Students and teachers joint this January 29 in the Don Bosco Olympics to celebrate the Solemnity of Saint John Bosco. It was the 5th version of the also called “Color Games”, because the whole educative community is divided in 4 color teams: red, blue, pink and yellow, each color with a Salesian meaning. The first Don Bosco Hatrans’ Color Games were on January 31, 2012 with only 40 students and 10 teachers. At the time, many children and youth from the Kep neighborhood were invited to participate so to have a good number in every team. But today, 4 years after, the community is bigger.

There were also delegations from the Don Bosco Kep Children Fund coming from Takeo and Kampot to participate in the games. The journey started with the celebration of an ecumenical Eucharist in the Solemnity of Saint John Bosco. During the Mass the community made a minute of silence to honor the memory of Mgr. Emile Destombes, former Bishop of Phnom Penh, who passed aways on January 28 at 12:30 PM in Phnom Penh.
